Buying a Home
Check Out “Vacation” Opportunities
Real estate values have dropped significantly in the past few years, especially in areas where people tend to purchase second homes, vacation homes, or getaway homes, like near beaches, resorts, and other “vacation” areas. In some cases the price for a home in what was a “destination” area may be less than the price for a similar home in a “non-destination” area. The reason is simple: In a down economy many people can no longer afford to maintain two homes.
Don’t assume you can’t afford a home near a beach or resort area you may find some of the best deals where prices have taken a beating. And when the real estate market recovers, values in those areas may rise more quickly than in other areas. So why not consider enjoying the best of both worlds?
